Our Dining Services Coordinator, Alfredo Sotomayor, joined Bertram House of Swampscott in 2023.  A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, Alfredo has over twenty years of culinary experience, with sixteen of those years working in and running dining services departments at other senior living facilities in the area.  Alfredo recognizes that a great dining experience has the ability to lift up each resident’s physical and emotional well-being. And knowing that quality meals depend on quality ingredients, he sources key ingredients locally as much as possible, including from Kinnealey Meats in Boston. We even grow some of our own vegetables and herbs on the Bertram House grounds - you can't get more local and "farm to table" than that! Our dining services team also understands the impact of brain-healthy nutrition on overall brain health, and they create delicious and flavorful meals utilizing fresh herbs and spices rather than relying on added salt.  Our daily menus offer two featured entrées, as well as a selection of always available items, and menus rotate on a five week schedule, ensuring plenty of variety.tuna

"The Chef and staff prepare and serve meals that would equal any fine restaurant.  The food is exceptional and the presentation is superb, and they should be commended for their ability to present such gourmet meals every day.” -- from the daughter of a Bertram House resident
