Our Dining Services Coordinator, Chanel Robinson, joined Bertram House of Swampscott in 2022 with over twenty years of food service experience, as well as degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University. Prior to joining our team, Chanel worked as a chef at several other senior living facilities in the area, and she also worked for the New England Patriots for nine years! Chanel recognizes that a great dining experience has the ability to lift up each resident’s physical and emotional well-being. And knowing that quality meals depend on quality ingredients, she sources key ingredients locally as much as possible, including from Kinnealey Meats in Boston. We even grow some of our own vegetables and herbs on the Bertram House grounds - you can't get more local and "farm to table" than that! Our dining services team also understands the impact of brain-healthy nutrition on overall brain health, and they create delicious and flavorful meals utilizing fresh herbs and spices rather than relying on added salt. Our daily menus offer two featured entrées, as well as a selection of always available items, and menus rotate on a five week schedule, ensuring plenty of variety.

"The Chef and staff prepare and serve meals that would equal any fine restaurant. The food is exceptional and the presentation is superb, and they should be commended for their ability to present such gourmet meals every day.” -- from the daughter of a Bertram House resident
