What makes Bertram House of Swampscott so special? Many things!
Strong Partners: The philosophy behind the Bertram House has existed since 1877 when John Bertram, a merchant and philanthropist from nearby Salem, Massachusetts, opened a home for retired seamen who had no one to care for them. In 1997, the John Bertram House Board of Trustees, a non-sectarian, nonprofit charitable trust, opened the Bertram House of Swampscott in response to the growing demand for top-quality assisted living. Our community is currently managed by Sunrise Senior Living, one of the oldest and most well-respected senior living management companies in the country.
Exceptional Care: Our tenured team of care managers consists of home health aides and certified nursing assistants who have been highly screened and then trained to the Bertram House standard. Because of their dedication, their compassion, and their constant interactions with the residents, they become part of your extended family.
Value in Assisted Living: As a nonprofit community, we are able to focus on the needs of our residents and our building rather than on the financial interests of shareholders or investment trusts. This allows us to make constant upgrades and improvements, to ensure that residents and families are satisfied with Bertram House's amenities. We also are able to offer twelve subsidized suites for existing residents who meet certain criteria.
Great Reputation: See our Testimonials page and read all of the wonderful accolades from our residents and family members. These are the folks who truly know that we deliver on our promises and are dedicated to providing the very best in assisted living!
